24 May 2017 G7 – Ask World Leaders To End Hunger
In 2015, the G7 – a group of seven of the most powerful governments in the world – committed to lift 500 million people out of hunger and malnutrition by 2030. So far, the G7 has not committed to a plan or any additional resources to meet this target. Meanwhile, the UN has launched an appeal for $4.4 billion in emergency funding for the famine response. The UN says it needs this money by July. Some donor pledges have been made and the money is slowly coming in, but for many, this is too little, too late. Tweet world leaders and ask them to deliver their hunger promise.
